How it all began...
Ralph Lasky and Russell Scher first established the business in 1990, taking over a small practice from a retiring Optician. Our practice, by Woodford Central Line tube station, has been our home for over 35 years, serving the communities of Woodford, South Woodford, Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell and far beyond. In the last 35 years the Optical landscape has changed dramatically, but one thing that has never changed is our commitment to excellent service, exciting eyewear and embracing new technology!
15 Years later...
Ralphs daughter Jo joined the business 15 years ago, and today they run the business together. Jo is now the Practice Manager and oversees all aspects of the business, and enjoys telling her dad what to do! - Jo is a qualified Dispensing Optician who can advise patients on the best optical solutions and eyewear. Together Ralph and Jo ensure that the shelves are always stocked with fabulous glasses, and they keep up to date with all the latest advances in lens technologies, to ensure that clients leave having had the best possible service.
Our Optometrists
Our Optometrists (Ophthalmic Opticians) each have extensive experience in their field, allowing them to provide sound advice on anything eye-related.
Simone Viniker BSc Hons FCOptom has been with the practice since it was founded, and has extensive experience and a passion for Myopia Management.
Nicola Everitt BSc Hons McOptom Dip(Tp)IP joined the team over 14 years ago and is a qualified Independent Prescriber.
Deepal Kothari BSc Hons Optometry has a special interest in diabetic eye disease and is part of the national diabetic eye screening programme.
Nicola and Deepal are also accredited to see patients under the local MECs (minor eye conditions) scheme and are able to advise on many red eye and dry eye conditions.
Our front of house team Jill and Sara will make sure you always get a warm welcome, or a wave if you are passing by, and are on hand to help you with any queries you may have.
